Three night-four day fully guided Tour to northern KwaZulu Natal visiting Imfulosi-Hluhluwe, Mkhuze and St Lucia big game reserve areas which also provide excellent birding opportunities Accommodation on all three nights is at the small, intimate family owned and run Malala Lodge on a dinner bed and breakfast rate. Tour price includes park entry fees, light picnic luncheons in the parks and bottled water drinks on the vehicle but not including alcohol refreshments which are for the guest’s own account. Tour also includes a hippopotamus and crocodile viewing estuary boat trip ( about two hours in duration) at St Lucia weather permitting or a game viewing drive to Cape Vidal. Tour commences in Durban at about 07h00 on Day one and ends back in Durban on Day four at about 18h00.



The fishing lodge is built on a hill overlooking the Zambezi River.  It is situated in a privately owned Game Ranch which is fully fenced.  

The property is 3100 + hectares (7660 acres) in size with approximately 30 kms of game fencing (2.5 metre tall with 17 strands of 2.24 mm high tensile fencing wire), including 5 kms of Zambezi River frontage.  This region of the river is known to fishermen as the ‘Tiger Mile’.

This Property has a 99 year lease from the Zambian government dating from 1998 with an automatic renewal of another 99 year lease.
The Fishing Lodge

The Lodge is built of brick (made from the surrounding anthills) and stone and has a thatched roof with an area of 174 square metres downstairs. The floors are stone.

The upstairs has an area of 105 square metres with wooden flooring (Kiat).

There are two guest bedrooms upstairs, each with their own bathroom as well as a television lounge.

One downstairs bedroom has its own bathroom plus dressing room (Owner’s/Manager’s).

Chalets

At present there are 2 Chalets both of which sleep 2 people.  Six metres diameter, fully furnished each with 2 beds, bathroom and toilet.

      Lapa area - 45.5 square metres under thatch with bar and braai and the deck overlooks the Zambezi River eastwards.

There is a camping area and ablution block for the river rafters and other visitors who do not want to go to the expense of a room.

GAME

Game includes impala, kudu, bushbuck, common duiker, red duiker, baboon, vervet monkeys and other common small animals that go with an area this large.

There is extensive bird life and hippos and crocodiles in the river.

Access

      By helicopter from Livingstone  -  approx. 35 minutes.
      By air (Chinook 2-seater aircraft of Canadian design - could be sold with the property if desired) from Livingstone - 50 minutes.
      By river - boat ride up Zambezi from Sinazongwe on Lake Kariba.
      By road - 150 kms from the Great North Road. 4x4 recommended.

The game ranch is located downriver from Victoria Falls, before the Zambezi enters Lake Kariba.
